Yuma AZ to Nogales AZ and it was an unevetful trip which is always good.

Neither of us slept much last night after our meal at Asian Star...so good two years ago and last night..not.  We were up early at 6:30 and after a coffee from the non existent continental breakfast🤣 and a banana for Eric and a banana and yogurt for me which  I bought we were on the road.  Last night I made lunches for the three days of travel and we hooked up the trailer and loaded the luggage. Eric's sinuses  and stomach have been horrible so he's exhausted. We'll get in early and he can rest.

Lovely light as we head south out of Yuma.

I8 heading east.
Lots of crossroads and freeway exits/entrances. Arizona has so much flat land that everything is  very spread out.
Looks kind of stormy ahead.
A mexican workers bus with outhouses in tow.
Eric decided to get fuel in CoyoteWash and it was expensive at 5.99 a gallon.
Wasn't supposed to rain this morning but...
...it did!
Cleaned off the windshield.  Turn right for Gila Bend, Ajo and Why where we used to stay in the 5th wheel before crossing the border. Today we continue east on I-8.
Rains finished.
As we climb toward the turn-off to I-10 the saguaro and cholla cacti start to appear.  Pretty.
They seem to like higher elevations.
We were only travelling at just over 60mph and the speed limit is 75 which is way too fast hauling.  Tons of trucks and they are busy passing us and eachother😁
I-10 and Tucson..veer right.
Off in the distance Picacho Peak.  Reminds me of Mt. Tetakawi (goat teats!) in San Carlos Mexico.
Coming into Tucson and there are 4 to five lanes.  Again a huge amount of trucks but we hold our constant speed and they all go by.
Here we veer right onto 19 south.
We fueled up and had lunch at the Safeway in Sahuarita close to Green Valley.  The sign said there was a Chevron but it was not obvious. The same in many small towns where the highway sign says fuel but the station is buried downtown. We got fuel and went into the Safeway to use the washroom. While I was there I picked up some butter and more cheese.  Cheddar is available at Sam's Club in Mazatlan but it's sporadic.  We like all cheese including manchego and other Mexican ones.

We turned off on the old highway 19 that runs east of Nogales and arrived at the Quality Inn Americana around 2pm. We've stayed here twice before and we like it.  We can park the truck and trailer along the edge outside our window.  Room 131 just like last time.  It's a handicapped room so it's nice and big! The hotel has changed hands recently so the restaurant is not open right now but they do have continental breakfast and restaurants are close by.

The room is spotless and doesn't smell of smoke like last time we were here as it's now a non smoking hotel.  Tomorrow we are off to the border and south to Navijoa for the night.

Quality  Hotel Americana.

Don't let those fall on your head!

3164 miles from Trrrace, BC to Mazatlan, Sinaloa...753 miles to go.

  3. Maybe you can find the maximum strength bottles of antacid put out by CVS Pharmacy while you are there; also, ask the pharmacist and he or she will show you the right sinus medicines. However, only take the sinus meds before he goes to sleep because they make you drowsy, not for the road. Dee Tillotson, Summerville, SC
