Ely, NV to Laughlin,NV and no disasters!

We both had upset stomachs overnight and didn't sleep much so we were up early and on the road at 7. Apprehensive about what the truck would do as well!

Chilly but dry so no frost.
A pretty morning with sun in our future. As you leave Ely you climb to 7200 ft and then head down l the way to Laughlin which is at 500 ft!

Coming into White River Narrows.

Can you imagine the water rushing through here!

Thr rock is rounded even at the top from the water.

Back on the wide open road.  Even here we're at 3500 ft.
Off to the left green fields as we get closer to Hiko.

Hiko.

Turn right for Ash Springs.

Lots of farming in this area because..there's water.  We noticed that at the Shell station in Ash Springs they are building a big new station with a separate grocery store.  In Alama just south there us grocery store right behind the Pickett's RV park where we have stayed many times.  This area is where we could stop instead of Ely but the motels in Alamo and Ash Springs are crap!

The Pharanagat national wildlife reserve is here.

Lonesome highway..our favorite.

Out on the freeway heading into Las Vegas.
No matter how many times we go through it always amazes us how crazy the driving is.  We hold the middle lane at a constant speed and only pass if necessary. The rest of the traffic makes us dizzy.  Always a nerve-wracking experience!!

We're through the 20 miles of Vegas and heading south to Laughlin.  Quiet again.

The Joshua trees start to appear.
Up ahead or rather down ahead is Laughlin where we stayed many times in the RV.

Straight ahead and over the bridge is Bullhead City AZ.

Don Laughlin's Riverside Casino where we'll stay two nights.  Shop and wash the truck.

It is a huge hotel and our very nice room is on the 23rd floor so Eric has a view!
Crazy check in as everything is in the middle of the casino. To get out..through the casino..to the elevators...through the casino.  There is actually bowling alleys on the second floor.

That's the RV park across the street.
Good night Laughlin!

We had pizza and salad in our room and early to bed.  The truck did not give us any issues today.  Ran fine, idled fine, power good and no smoke...fingers crossed!
