Pendleton Oregon to Jackpot Nevada.

So yesterday was an easy day.  Started out cold but no bad roads.

-2c leaving Pendleton.

Hmm...snow on Cabbage hill?

Yup.

A snow storm a couple of days ago but at least it's not on the road.

Looks like Christmas 😁

We miss the winter snow...well not that much😁

Heading down to La Grande and a triple of hay...worth a fortune these days!

In the distance you can see grass even though there's snow.

Huge cement plant in Weatherby powered by natural gas?

Before Boise we got fuel in Ontario at the Love's station.  What a great stop!  Food, sandwiches, clean washrooms and clean as a whistle.  Friendly efficient staff as well.  I should have taken a picture.
Here we're just out of Boise.  They are upgrading the freeways in this area and on this section the new lanes are so narrow that two semi's side by side could touch mirrors...scary!
Snake river.

Getting ready to turn off the freeway onto  old scenic highway 30 to Twin Falls.  We love this route.
Look at the rock.

Buhl and it has so many old buildings.  Very historic and very pretty.

Our fuel stop with the most interesting country store.  Diesel was cheap at 5.29 a gallon.  Most places vary between 5.45 and 5.85.

Now we're south out of Twin Falls heading to Jackpot, Nevada where we stayed for the night.

Wide open country.

A crummy picture but...welcome to Jackpot, Nevada which is just a casino town.  We stayed here in the RV park at Cactus Pete's many times.

We stayed at the Bartons Club 93 and it was a good choice and cheap at about $68. US. Our room was up behind the Casino in a motel building.  Clean and well updated.  Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. No complaints and we'd stay here again.

  1. Closer every day, YEA!!!!!! Traveling Mercies all the way. Carol posted a very good blog with many photos of their trip south from San Carlos. January sure seems far off but many things to celebrate in the next two months.

  2. We stayed at Bartons Club 93 once ourselves. We were on our way home and Norma was desperate for a nice long, hot bath so we parked the motorhome in their lot and got a room.
