A quiet day in Laughlin.

We were off to Walmart yesterday morning for this and that.  Eric's only medication is an allergy pill and the one that works is Xyzaal which I can only get in the US.  I can order it through Amazon but as we're here it was on the list. Eric also needed another jug of Diesel Kleene which he's adding with each fill.  After shopping we stopped at the car wash.  The truck needed a bath after all the road grime up north.  There was an auto one but it added a clear coat protector which we don't want.  If the vehicle isn't absolutely clean when that goes on it seals in the dirt.  We used the manual wash but even then it still needs a wash when we get to Mexico and I prefer to do it myself.

Eric's sinuses are horrible in the dry desert air so he is suffering with that.  In Mazatlan it much more humid.

After lunch I walked down to my favorite mall to look for bras, flip-flops and also to shop in Burkes where I usually find some treasures.  As we stayed here many times in the past I've shopped here alot.

Sad news for me..the bra shop is gone..the shoe store had nothing I liked and neither did Burkes.  So many of the tops are blousey like a maternity top so no thanks.  A complete bust...no pun intended!  Lots of the shops were closed so I guess covid would be to blame.

Pretty quiet on the street but not in the casino.

We didn't feel like a big dinner so we went down to the casino floor to the "non smoking" side for soup and salad.  I ordered and since it was packaged up for take out we went back to the room to eat. The night before I went down and got us pizza and salad but the salad had been drowned in dressing. Last night's dressing was on the side.

Today we are off to Yuma for 2 nights.  Tomorrow we'll drive to the border to get our tourist visa's and temporary vehicle import papers.  It's a bond that you get back as long as you turn in your papers when you leave.  When we get home ICBC our BC insurance will reimburse us for the time we're in Mexico because they don't cover our vehicles.   I've already purchased our Mexican liability insurance for the truck and motorcycle online as well as travel insurance through Medipac. Last spring when I fell and broke my elbow Medipac eventually settled the bill for $20 thousand US!  We paid our $5thousand US deductible. I get a large deductible to keep the premium down.  All things that must be done for a safe trip.
Another sunny day in Laughlin so no more jackets😊

  1. Glad to see you are getting closer. The darn tolls are a killer. Highest on the last leg from Los Mochis. We did not get stopped at any check point. But did see some people pulled over. We waved and drove through. The guys in beige pants and black shirts are real federal police. They had two check points set up one before and one after the state line. no problems. Roads in Sinaloa are still rough. Some been repaved - those that haven't the holes even have holes. Keep posting.
