Ladies teeney tiny lunch at the Cerritos Gastrobar.

Actually the lunch wasn't teeney tiny but the group was.  There are only of a few of the group left here in Mazatlan and yesterday we were to be five but two dropped out due to sickness.  So....Ruth, Mar and I went to a small restaurant in the small commercial area called the Manzara Loft resortthat is  just a stones throw south of Marina Gardens where we live.  Eric and I did eat in the Cerritos Gastrobar when we arrived in November and it was good.  Not a huge menu a good variety to choose from.

This picture has nothing to do with lunch it's just a photo I took of a lovely vine!  Love the colour.

We were the only diners at 1pm when they opened.  This is a lousy photo but I wanted to show Ruth sitting on the padded bench.  She was way too low so Mar who is much taller switched.

It's a very small restaurant/bar but it does have two levels.

Enough room for the whole ladies lunch crew if we decide to try it as a large group next season.  Right now this is a good choice as Semana Santa or holy week is starting and it will be a zoo in the Golden Zone as well as centro.  This will be the first big Easter holiday since 2020 and covid.  Last night we were treated to a huge rocking electronic music venue from across the street.  It started a 3pm and got louder and louder.  Luckily it shut down by 10 pm when we were going to bed.

This is me with my rainbow Sangria and it was very tasty and refreshing.

Ruth loves Negroni's !

This is our waiter Aziad and he was very charming, funny and full of information.  Here Ruth is asking him all sorts of questions about the menu.  She is always interested in what the waiter's favorite thing on the menu is and Aiad said " the hamburger!"  That got a laugh from us but he said it is a very good hamburger.  He was very personable and helpful and...he spoke perfect English which is always a plus.

I ordered a half of a pork rib sandwich with fries.  The pork was very tasty and a bit spicy with coleslaw inside the sandwich.  Plenty of food and I'm glad I didn't order the whole sandwich.

Ruth ordered the half roast beef sandwich that came with Au Jus and fries.  Again...plenty of food and only 130 pesos.  There were also three different kinds of salsa to be used on the chips or sandwiches.  Again, very tasty and Aziad explained what was in which one and....which one was his favorite!

Mar ordered the roasted brussel sprouts which she has ordered before and really likes.  She says she's going to make them at home.  They are topped with some sort of dried fish flakes.

Ruth enjoying her sandwich.

The service was very good but as I mentioned we were the only diners to start. The drinks were a little slow coming out but....we were in no hurry.  Mar had to wait for water as she asked for tap water which means purified water here and they had to wait for it to show up!  The food was delivered in short order and although we'd hoped to have dessert...we were too full.  A nice little restaurant for lunch or an evening meal and for us...close by.  Open from 1pm to 11pm.
