Mane for Ladies Lunch and it was a winner!

On Wednesday the group was off to Mane which is located a short distance into the Golden Zone.  This restaurant is new to us and we were excited to see how it turned out.

Street view ....very classy.  I was expecting about a dozen ladies to show up today and in the end there were thirteen.  I tried to phone ahead for a reservation but their mailbox was full so we just showed up!  We arrived at 12:30 as they don't start serving lunch until 1pm.  Lunch is finished at noon and I guess they must use the hour to change over.

To start it was Georgia and Connie as well as Pat, Ruth, Diane and I.  The rest trickled in bit by bit.

Connie had arrived really early so she had the table all set up for us!

The restaurant is relatively new and very tastefully done.  We would have liked to sit in the outside patio but there wasn't enough room.

We started by ordering drinks.  Georgia has a pina colada? Connie a Moscow Mule which is served in a hammered copper cup and my Mora Buena which is non alcoholic...I didn't think it was all that tasty but maybe it was the lack of alcohol!

All thirteen of us.  Three of the ladies came with the Marilyn's from their condo complex.  I'd met Liz but not Christine or Pat.
That is Helene introducing herself to the new ladies and greeting the rest of us.

Mane also has a bakery and all these scrumptious looking sweet treats.

Buns and breads as well.

We've all perused the menu and are having a good chat.

Behind Connie was a macrame wall hanging...very 70's!
Chantal was the first to be served as she'd ordered tortilla soup and it was served in the traditional manner.  All the fixings in the bowl and hot broth poured over it.  She was surprised at how large the bowl was. Very delicious as well!

Looks yummy!

I took the opportunity to order filet mignon with vegetables and garlicy, creamy mashed potatoes.  It arrived med rare as ordered but was not as tender as it should have been.  But...not tough and very tasty as was the gravy and the rest of the meal.

The ever adventurous Georgia ordered octupus.

Lovely grilled vegetables as well.

Pat had shrimp fettuccine which was very artfully presented.  I could smell the garlic and it came piping hot!

Mar a cheese appetizer with fruit...very pretty.

Mane's signature salad with goat cheese fruit and nuts.  Delicious.

The meals were varied and delivered promptly on warm plates....the mark of a good restaurant in my opinion.!

Ruth had lasagna accompanied by in house made bread.  Very good and she had to take some home.

A number of ladies had shrimp tacos served on the colored taco shells.  Artful and very tasty.

I almost ordered fish tacos and these were very good.

Connie had shrimp tacos too.

Just a few meals left to be served.

Diane's meal came last and she had ordered chicken mole.  She was impressed.  Again very tasty.

Helene is mostly vegetarian but today she took the opportunity to order spagetti with a meat sauce.  Again delicious.

This is the entrance to the ladies washroom.  Sparkling clean.

The well stocked wine cabinet.

Animated conversation!

So...the meals were done and eaten and everyone was suitably impressed by the whole experience.  Extremely good food for a reasonable but not cheap price.  Excellent service,  promptly delivered meals and no complaints about the food.  It all disappeared except for Ruth's tiny bit of lasagna which she took home.  The bills were handled individually with no problems and we all left with smiles on our faces.  Another truly good lunch experience.  Thumbs up to the Mane restaurant.  They are open from 8am until 10 pm with something on the menu for everyone.

Off to the bus stop and home.  The buses were full this afternoon but the farther out of town they go the emptier they become.
