Eric had fun today….

Why you might ask well I’ll tell you!

Today we took the freshly washed Big Red out on a ride to Estacion Dimas for lunch.  This is a nice ride because it heads north on the free road and then west to the coast and Estacion Dimas avoiding all the busy traffic of Mazatlan. We have done this ride before and I have blogged it in the past but today was a bit different!

Heading north….the landscape is looking very dry as there has not been any rain this winter.

The huge Cactus are in flower.

We are coming from Mex 15 or the free road and now cross over the north south toll road Mex 15D as we head into Dimas.

A  beautiful big wide paved street heading into town.

A lovely house….I think a gardener lives here!

The church has a fresh coat of paint and looks quite stunning.

We head back up the road the way we came in and stop at this restaurant for lunch.

Pretty quiet in side with just us and the staff….but there is an eclectic mix of music playing.  A little Mexican music, a little rap and a little mellow girl band.  So Eric can’t stand the girl band music and goes to have a look and see if they are playing CD’s.  Why yes they are and he just happens to have a couple of CD’s on the bike.  What does he have…well he has some George Thorogood and decides to see if the waitress would like to play that.  Now as you all know Mexicans like music and how loud it is doesn’t matter.  Good thing because George isn’t lunch music!  You might remember George or ….maybe not but he is well known for songs such as “Bad to the Bone” and “One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer!”  http://www.georgethorogood.com/

It is distinctive music with a wailing sax and slide guitar…right up Eric’s alley.  He could have given them a CD of the Cult but I won’t even go there!

Guess what…. George is playing in Kamloops, B.C. while we are in Kelowna on our way home.  I think I’ll pass on that!

That’s Adriana and the CD player is just behind her.

So the music is rocking while we eat and the waitress notices that I am trying to take a timed photo of us eating so she comes over to help.  Then she asks Eric if they can take pictures on the moto.  Sure, no problem so Eric heads out front while I continue eating to my “relaxing” lunch music.  The waitress is Adriana and she and her boyfriend Christo both get a picture on Big Red on their Iphones.  Adriana trots back with the other lady Jaqui and they show us the pictures they took.  They were thrilled and we should have taken pictures of them on the bike as well.

She is thrilled with her picture on Big Red.

The lunch was good and when we left Eric asked if they wanted to keep the George Thorogood CD and they said they did.  Will they play it…who knows but everyone had a good time and everyone has a story.

P1060211

The lunch was very tasty.

P1060213

As we were leaving I had a chat in my bad Spanish with Jaqui about where we live and how we got the the moto here.  Did she understand…who knows…at least I tried.

Eric is still laughing about the whole thing and I suggested he make more CD’s and pass them out where ever we go!!

It was just a fluke that they had music playing on the CD player and now they have their very own home made George Thorogood CD.  Good old rock and roll!
