Margaritas for New Year's Eve ladies lunch.

We didn't do Ladies Lunch on Christmas Eve but I decided New Years Eve wasn't a big deal for most of us so ....ladies lunch.  Just a few of us yesterday but that's nice.  Soon we'll be back to the full quorum as more ladies arrive.  Margaritas was a good choice as we didn't have to travel too far.

I decided to start with the picture of the small family band that was playing in front of Margarita's.  The two girls were singing and playing and the little boy was keeping time.  I wondered about the ball caps until they came into the restaurant with them upside down looking for tips.  Good idea!

Susie and Cathy ahead of me as we walk along Gaviotis to Margarita's.

It's a very large, long narrow restaurant and it can be chilly as it's a bit of a wind tunnel.

It was happy hour and that meant two drinks for the price of one.  I only wanted one so i just had a virgin pina colada as you dont get two.  They bring the two drinks separately so sharing wasn't an option.

This is another restaurant with the talented waiters who deliver the margaritas on their head.

A guy from the table behind us was hamming it up pretending to steal Ruth's drink.

She did manage to grab it first even though she was laughing hard!

Cathy, Marilyn and Mar.  Just 6 of us yesterday.

Mar and Ruth.  Ruth ordered guacamole and chips as a starter and it was big.

A little Happy New Year video!

This is one of the few restaurants that offers chili rellenos as a meal.  Poblano chilies blackened, peeled, stuffed, breaded and deep fried.  Lots of work involved.  Served with refried beans and rice in a spicy sauce...yum!  I ordered an extra plate and took it home for Eric for dinner.  I ate the whole plate so I didn't need much dinner.

Susie ordered coconut shrimp but as you can see they are over fried or maybe the oil just needed to be changed.  She said they were okay.

Susie smiling!

Me and my lunch...odd optical illusion ...my hand looks huge.

Cathy had fish tacos.

Both Marilyn and Mar ordered a Chef's salad.  A bit of a different presentation.

Marilyn with her lunch.

Mar before the waiter dropped a dish with rice on it off his tray and it shattered and she ended up with rice in her lap and inside her purse.  The same young waiter almost dropped Ruth's chili rellenos all over her as they slid around on the tray..  He was in way to much of a hurry delivering food.

Most of the waiters here have been working here for a long time.  Good English, friendly, funny and very competent....I'm thinking the young rather uninterested waiter may not be destined for this business.
We sat for a long time chatting and relaxing before we all headed home.  It really was a nice lunch out and a good place to eat any day of the week.  It was pretty busy in the Golden Zone and judging by the numerous wrist bands there was a cruise ship or two in town.

I finish with the little family band and wish you all a Happy New Year!
