Angelina's Kitchen for Ladie's Lunch.

Angelina's Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants and we always make a yearly trek there for lunch.  It is a fair ways off the bus route so we took a truck.  Who says you can't get 11 in an auriga.  A very nice hospitable driver picked some of us up in the RV park and the rest were picked up along the way.

Sandi and Frank are heading home today Sunday May 3rd so I thought it was appropriate that Sandi got to choose this week's restaurant and Angelina's kitchen was it.  Doesn't she look nice!

Ruth, another Sandy, Sandi and Marion. The driver had a big cooler with small waters and half size Pacifico beer..complimentary which many of the ladies were happy to drink!  We gave him a very good tip and each person paid 50 pesos for the ride.

A number of years ago Pat who wasn't at lunch on Thursday took a footsie picture so I thought I'd keep up the tradition.  Do you know who's who?

Coming through the Golden Zone.  A beautiful day and warm for the truck ride.

Look at this fun bus.  The back is full of gringos riding in style!

Coming onto the Malecon and you can see the landmark Valentino's in the background.  It was closed for many years but is now operating again. Everyone is having their photo taken in front of the Mazatlan sign.

A lovely ride.

Heading up off the malecon towards Angelina's kitchen.  Many years ago I took a cooking course from Angelina and her chef...great fun and very informative.

Here we are.

The bar.

Part of the extensive menu.

Daily specials.

Lunch discussion! That's Susie on the left and Diane on the right.  In the end they shared a pizza.

The blogger, me and my mirror photo.

Marilyn, Marion, Liz and Sandi.

Now that's a green drink.  Basil and lime and....?

This one's pretty too.

Mine was supposed to have pineapple in it but it tasted more like coconut....very tasty.

Liz ordered the stuffed poblano and it tasted as good as it looks.  I was going to order it but then decided on fish tacos as they're so good here.

Marion and Marilyn had shrimp tacos. Pretty and delicious.

Sandi's salmon and green apple salad.  She said is was yummy.

Everyone is happy with their lunch.

A sort of selfie!

Susie and Diane's sausage pizza....doesn't it look good!

Shrimp and pineapple for Anita.  Needless to say some of it went home.  Ruth took it as Anita was flying home on Friday morning.

Ruth ordered the special beet tower with avocado, apple and goat cheese.  Is that not the most amazing presentation?  I'd have liked it except for the goat cheese!  Ruth was worried that there was pecan crumbles on it as she is allergic but it turned out to be brown sugar so all okay!

Ruthie....always the ham!

Connie and I had fish tacos.  She thought she'd ordered shrimp but....she hadn't.   Louis the long time waiter here is very efficient and never gets an order wrong.  Individual checks and drink orders are no problem and by the end of the meal he remembers all of our names.
Connie enjoyed her lunch but one taco went home with Ruth.  Anita behind...sorry she's chewing!

Sandi had the tomato soup which was again delicious.  I should have had more pictures but it's hard when you're trying to eat your own lunch.
The checks were delivered promptly and accurately by the cashier and there was no problem with anything at lunch.  Good lunch, good friends, good service and always an enjoyable experience here.  After lunch everyone wandered off to do their own thing.  Connie and I walked back to the Flexi shoe store as she was looking for sandals for a friend and I needed to cord to restring a broken bamboo blind.  Then,  a bus ride home.  Good day!
