Superbowl 2017 and ….another get together with eating.

The New England Patriots were playing the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl and we were invited to watch and have a potluck at Frank and Sandi’s.

These are the people watching the game on the side of Frank and Sandi’s rig.  Not sure what Eric is doing sitting there as he doesn’t even watch football.  Maybe he’s paying attention as he has money on the football pool.

These are some of the people not watching football.  Mostly woman of course.

Robyn decided that the picture taking blogger should be in some of the pictures.  I should have worn my sunglasses as it was really bright.

Always lots to chat about and ….none of it about football.  Except, of course if we won money on a quarter.

Hi Sandi and Marion too.

I have my ten dollar crazy pants on.  A bunch of us bought these downtown years ago for some other event.

It’s getting chilly now and Dennis is standing in the sun to keep warm.  He didn’t bring a jacket but Sandi ever the good hostess found him one.

The crowd watches.  To the right taped to the rig you can see the football pool.  Eric put 200 pesos on the game and so did I…I wonder who will be lucky.

We have decided to eat at six o’clock and everyone has brought something to share.  I made a big crock pot of chili.  This time I even took the time to blacken all the peppers (red bell, poblano, anaheim & jalapeno) on the grill and then scrape off the skin.  I thought maybe it would give the chili a better taste.  I’ve always thought that was just a huge amount of work but it really didn’t take all that long.

Dennis and Eric chat.  They have a lot in common and when Dennis and Marilyn were staying in the park Eric and Dennis used to chat quite a bit.

Hey….it got dark!  We have eaten and the picture I took of the food was blurry but I think you’ve seen enough to food pictures to know it was all good.  There are a lot of really good cooks in the park and the food is always great.  By the way the chili was better with the blackened peppers.

After dinner we ladies sat around and gabbed while the game played on.  Anita even had us playing a word game which I didn’t get for the longest time.  In the end it was fun and we all got a good laugh.

Good food, good friends, good evening!

P.S. – When we left the Falcons were leading the Patriots 28 to 3 and it looked like they would win.  When we got home and Eric turned on the game they were in overtime and the Patriots won.  You just never know.   Oh yeah Eric did win….300 pesos on the pool.  What a lucky guy.
