First ladies lunch of the season!

Today was our first lunch of the season and we were trying to remember how long we'd been doing this.  I guessed ten years but it's actually eight. The picture below was taken on Decenber 22, 2014.  Ladies Lunch was Ruth's idea and it was a good one.

Today it was Panchos on the beach which has become our first lunch of the season for the last few years.

Off the bus at Panama bakery and down the street to Panchos.  Everyone looks happy!

Next to Panchos is Pin ups which serves great burgers and Lucky B's next to it where we'llikely eat this season.

Down the long alleyway to Panchos.

Right on the beach and lots of people about as there are lots of hotels in the Golden Zone.  This is the touristy area and there are tons of shops.  It was quiet here during Covid but not now!

Helene on the left and Cathy on the right.  They are both happier than they look!  In the middle is Chantal who is staying in Las Jaibas with her husband.  They are from Quebec so she and Helene chatted away in French as Helene is originally from Quebec as well.  She and her husband ended up in the park as she'd read my blog and had seen all the interesting things we used to do there.  Times change!

We were nine today with six of us on the bus and three waiting at the restaurant.

Panchos serves complimentary jalepeno poppers stuffed with smoked marlin...spicy!

On the plate next to Susie's beer.

The food is arriving!

Chantal chose the Mexican plate..which is good but very large!  Some went home with her.

Jeannette's shrimp caesar salad came first which gave everyone a chuckle as she's usually last to be served everywhere we go!

Mar and Georgia shared three appetizers that were so large one went home untouched.

Some of us had the shrimp avocado salad..very good!

The waiter took two photos and some of us look better in one or the other so I include two.

Out on the beach a Mexican banda is playing and it's loud and is always a race to the finish!

Everyone had a good lunch with lots of laughter and catch up chat.  At the end of the meal a small complimentary liqueur in milk and ice. Next week..?

  1. Oh the view from there and all the hotels along that area. We like to have one of our first breakfast out at Las Flores as the view is spectacular! I so enjoy your “Lunch Bunch” blogs and have for years. Thank you for sharing.
