An alumni and newbie happy hour at Las Jaibas!

Sandi and Frank thought it would be a good idea to have a low key happy hour at the park so those of us who have moved out into condos and houses could attend.  The first year in the park for Eric and I was in 2009 and many people that we met that year had been coming for much longer. In the early years before the US 2008 crash the park was always full so Felipe, the owner expanded in the summer of 2008 and the park has never been full since.  Now Covid and high fuel prices along with an aging RV population has slowed numbers down as well.  The park used to be surrounded by vegetation and now in the last 5 years it's become condos and houses.  North Mazatlan has undergone a huge building boom and is no longer the quiet area it once was. Progress?

First I start with a glimpse into the past😊  The pictures below are from December 2012.

Marilyn, Bets and Connie.
A crowd watching one of our "famous" bocce tournaments!

Jeannette, Boomer, Sandi and Blake..winners!

Sandi and Marilyn...buddies..Christmas.

Bill and Jeannette.

John says grace..Dick behind and Hal lower right.

A early picture of the ever lovely Helene.

Fred and Marion at Marion's birthday bash!

Affectionately known as "our Germans" Ursula, Max, Gunter and Regina. Max and Ursula came from Germany every year to Canada to their stored motorhome.  They then traveled south from BC with Gunter and Regina...lovely people.

And now it's 2022 and we are a different crowd.  Some have moved out of the park, some no longer come and some have passed on.  We enjoyed you all

A respectable crowd.

Rafael the park worker and everyone's friend with Cathy, Doug and Hal.

Richard and John in the back Susie looking at us.

Randal and John having a laugh.

Frank and Hal.

Jeannette and Susie.

Bill and Doug.

Pam and Susie.

Helene likes a tot of mezcal!

So it was a lovely visit and it was great to see everyone.
In the early years I sometimes wore a hat with "cub reporter" on it but I'm glad I've taken so many pictures and kept the blog going over the years!
