After 10 days getting ready to head home we hooked up the trailer and hit the road at 8am this morning. Our friend Mar is traveling to the US border with us. The day went well and the Sinaloa roads weren't even as hideous as usual. No impromptu road checks and we sailed past Culiacan with no issues. We're tucked into the Fiesta Motel in Navojoa tonight and tomorrow over the US border.
Leaving Mazatlan.
The ocean's over there somewhere behind my driver.
Dry and droughty unless you have irrigation.
Between Mazatlan and Culiacan there was lots of police presence.
Eric and Mar when we stopped for lunch.
The truck is full of corn..lots of it was on the road😊
How high can you pile?😁
A bit greener here.
One of the many toll booths.
See the pink tie on the dash, well our oldest granddaughter Holly put it there 20 years ago when we first bought the truck. A good luck charm❤️
Welcome to Sonora where the previously horrible roads are now concrete 😊
There was lots of truck traffic from Mazatlan to Culiacan and the regular traffic until Los Mochis and here...nice and quiet.
We know we're getting close to Navojoa when we see the Tecate plant.
Filthy windshield as we come into Navojoa...looks like a bubble machine.
A quick update, a few pictures and now beer, dinner and bed. All is well.😊
And tomorrow, Lukeville! I look forward to your report on the border.
ReplyDeleteActually we're going through Nogales but yes, I'll update. Friends who've gone out already had no issues.
ReplyDeleteThought of you this morning thinking this was the day for you to start your journey back to Canada. Love reading your posts. As always; Traveling Mercies All the Way Home.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy!
DeleteWonderful! So glad it has been a smooth process. Any hints on where we should go with a 45' bus thru Nogales would be appreciated. Never used Nogales heading North before. Won't be for a few months but I trust you. Good luck tomorrow. Contessa
