We had beer, a good dinner at the casino restaurant and then bed. Nice room and a great stop. Up at 6am and on the road at 7:15 with almost another 400 miles to Pendleton.
The wide open highway.
A little bit of green but not spring here yet.
The lilacs are just getting ready to bloom.
We leave highway 93 and head west on old highway 33...a lovely scenic drive through small towns.
This is Buhl and our usual fuel stop. You can buy pretty well anything here as it's farming country..
I ran across to the Ridleys market for a couple of sandwiches for tomorrow. I just love these small town market stores with food, hardware and whatever else you need.
A lovely old building.
Isn't that pretty. Old well kept houses and lots of Craftsman style which is my favorite.
As we wind through the highway 33 goes around farms...not through.
The mighty Snake River.
I saw the cow and took a picture...I'm not responsible for the sign🤣
Out on I 84 heading towards Boise.
The cows and calves are everywhere.
It's volcanic through this area and some farms are full of boulders!
Coming up out of the canyon.
Out on I 84 heading towards Boise.
South of Boise and the farms appear.
The mighty Snake is still there. Close to Carfish junction where we stayed in the RV.
This is growing and flowering and it must not be edible as it's in fields and the cows aren't eating it.
The yellow patches of it are in the fields.
We stopped for lunch at Weatherby.
I used Google lens and it seems to be a Yarrow.
North of Weatherby and the traffic slowed..huge truck wreck.
Heading down to Baker City.
Up from Baker City and then down to La Grande before going over Cabbage Hill and down to Pendleton.
Not too far to go. It can be really nasty through here but not today.
Down below is Pendleton. Lots of warnings to check your brakes before the six mile hill.
All flat and just about there.
Turn right for the Wildhorse Casino and hotel.
We got in at 3:30 and we're tucked in for the night.
The view out our 9th floor window. Eric had his eye on the construction 😁 The original part of the hotel has been torn down and a new building is under construction.
What a view!
Tomorrow another almost 400 miles to Ian and Linda's in Kelowna. We're tired and we'll lay over and visit before the last two days home.
