Goldendale,WA to Coos Bay, Oregon

Yesterday morning we got another early start..on the road by 7:30 and -2C.  We had a good stay at the Quality Inn.

A beautiful morning and you can see the wind turbines in the distance.

Up ahead the mighty Columbia and the Dalles.  Another small booboo with a turn due to poor signage. A few F,s 😆 and a quick turn and we were on our way.

This is the most beautiful drive along the Dalles so get ready for lots of photos.
A large wind turbine blade on a truck going the other way.  Ginormous!!
My excellent driver.

Another dam on the mighty river.
A fancy railing.

The colours are just amazing.
Grape vines with fall colours.
And now...rain.  Oh well, it'll wash the truck and trailer.
The walking trails.
Up ahead the 205 bypass around Portland.

Onto the 205.
It's ten in the morning and the traffic was ferocious!

On I5 and the fields are turned over and planted.

Here we're leaving I 5 and heading west to the coast.
Beautiful fall colours here too and another lovely drive.

A long tunnel...going in.
And coming out.
Into Reedsport and then Highway 101 to Coos Bay.

Reedsport.

In the background the famous dunes.
And now the ocean.
Look at all the water we cross over.
The long, long, bridge.

Downtown Coos Bay.

We're  here and it was only 3pm so we made good time.  First up Manny backs us in by his shop where all his classic car reside.
What a shop...Eric is so jealous!
Eric and Connie.
We're happy to be here for a couple of days and have a good visit.  Last night Manny made us his famous clam chowder...yum!  Connie had made individual flags for dessert...delicious 😋
Today it's pouring rain and we're being accused of bringing it with us from home😂

  1. Definitely a pretty drive at this time of the year. With no rain.
