Sunday Concert " The Romantic Music of America" by the Education Sector Rondalla from Culiacan

I am slightly tardy on my Sunday blog as I have been fighting to get my photos off my Samsung phone onto my laptop.  I kept getting " catastrophic failure" so I had to approach it in a different manner.  In the end I downloaded the pictures from Google photos where they have been stored onto my laptop and then edited them there and then uploaded them to blogger.    Now this may be a usual way to do things but ....not to me.  Live and learn.
On the bus heading downtown to the concert with Dennis and Marilyn.  They are not usual concert goers but they picked a good one today.  We have seen this group in the past and they are wonderful.
The stage is set with 13 microphones.

It was an eclectic program that included such hits as Sh-Boom by "The Chords" and Put Your Head On My Shoulder by " Paul Anka."  Some in Spanish some in English.

This write up tells it all and they are as good as it says!
I had to ask someone if I could take pictures of their program as they were short for this concert.
Once again Gordon is pleased by the huge turn out for this concert.  He also gave us a pep talk about next weeks concert which we will attend.  Stay tuned for that one.
All ready to go.  The performer on the left gave us a big run down on the concert ....all in Spanish and as he blathered on the performer next to him started to laugh and waving his hands like" enough already!" They were all laughing and then one of the young performers on the right did a bit of translation.
And...the concert starts.  I have to tell you these guys just put a big smile on my face.  Plus funny enough Dennis and Marilyn had booked our usual seats and were sitting right next to us.  How weird is that!
The little short guy was given the translation task and he did a pretty good job.
There were three main singers and two lead guitarists.  The fellow second from the left a "Bernal" was a singer and one of the lead guitars.
On the right the heavy set young man was the second lead.  In the past concert they all introduced themselves....not today.
The are a happy group who totally enjoy what they do and always had a smile on their faces.
One of the lead singers another " Bernal" with a very sweet voice.
At this point they wanted a " selfie" with all of us waving in the background.  We obliged!
They had as much fun as the audience did.
The last number and they had performed for almost two hours with a short break in the middle at this point.   Hard work and a huge amount of rehearsing to prepare.
 They are done and....
....the crowd is on it's feet.  Huge applause and whistling until....

.....an encore!

Truly one of the most enjoyable concerts we have attended and the group is very appreciative of our enthusiasm for their hard work and music.  Hope we see them again!

Now it was time to get something to eat as we'd all missed lunch.  Dennis and Marilyn were happy to follow us up Carnival to our usual spot at "Chon's"
 Tuna with garlic for me.
 Eric's usual....marlin burritos.
Crab tacos Goberanado tacos with cheese for Marilyn.
Dennis had breaded Corvina fillets.

Lunch was good as usual and topped off with a cold beer.  At this point we needed to get going as we all had to head to Pat and Reg's in the trailer park for a happy hour celebration of Reg's 75th birthday.  A big day for us....two events!   A really good day!
