I'm a day late for the blog as I ate too much spicy salsa at lunch on Tuesday and ended up with the most horrible acid reflux that I can remember. I coupled that with a "Mosquito" or non alcoholic mojito and the extra acid just about killed me!!
Anyway we were off to Chayito in the Golden Zone for lunch on Tuesday. We were supposed to be five but Marion was finished doing charity work early and was able to join us. We didn't arrive until just after noon as they switch to their lunch menu at noon.
Chayito is located at the beginning of the Golden Zone and construction is happening all around. That's Marilyn and Cathy up ahead.
When we arrived it was just us and the waiters were busy with Santa hats dancing around the Christmas tree. They were having a whale of a time and it took awhile to attract their attention.
It was happy hour and Mar was happy to have "two" margaritas. She was prepared though as she had an insultated cup with her so she could take the second one home.
Cathy, Susie, Marilyn and Mar.
We chatted for awhile and perused the very extensive menu. Chayito's menu is set up so you can order a full meal or just one of this and one of that which is good at lunch time.
I decided to have tortilla soup which came with chicken, avocado, cheese, peppers and a jug of hot broth. They also served chips and a very nice, but spicy salsa. With your meal you also get a cup of soup.
I over ordered and thought I could eat a shrimp salad on a hard taco....I could not and it became part of Eric's dinner. I expected it to be much smaller and it only cost 90 pesos or about $7.60 Canadian.
Mar ordered garlic shrimp which came with rice, steamed vegetables and broth. Very good and some went home with her.
Looks good!

The waiter kindly took a photo of us. Marilyn had Pepito McCoy which had bbcued pork inside, french fries and vegetables.
Susie, Marion and Cathy had the salad on a hard taco with shrimp or chicken. Eric said it was very good!
Marion and the camera made arm distorted....sorry.
Not a good picture of Cathy and her lunch.
We ate, chatted and had a good time until it was time to head home around 2pm. A very good Mexican style restaurant for any day of the week.
Always a winner!
This has nothing to do with lunch but it's a really nice picture of our granddaughter Ava, horse Gucci and our daughter Krista.
