On the road again..Terrace to Quesnel.

Over the last month we've been getting ready to head south.   I am an avid gardener so there's lots to do in the fall.  I cut everything back except for the late perrenials and then mulch the garden beds with leaves and compost. Eric takes care of all the machinery and puts it all to bed.  The things to do seem endless but we finally finished up and we're on the road.  Destination Mazatlan, Mexico.

Earlier on and the leaves are changing but everything's still green and growing.

Changing now.  It was an unusually dry summer here in Terrace but ever so beautiful.

Fall mushrooms..beautiful but psychedelic and not edible for most of us!

The leaves are falling and I'm madly mowing them up and bagging them for mulch.

The garden was still in full swing!

The morning light!

The pink glow.

The small Maple is so bright and late to loose it's leaves but the Sugar Maple is done.

Eric picked me these "Johnny jump ups" or violas the night before last.  Growing in the gravel driveway!

After shutting the house down yesterday we were off to stay with our daughter Erika, son in law Wade's and granddaughter Abby.  A lovely dinner, some chat and bed.

It cooled off yesterday and last night a skiff of snow. Looking out to Erika's horse barn.

The roads were decent and the temp was -2 to -5c.  This is our first cold weather.  This picture is Hudsons Bay mountain in Smithers.

Hungry Hill just out of Smithers.

Cleaning up a big accident.  Straight stretch, dry roads and big woodchip hauler and a logging truck over the bank.  Somebody made a mistake.   Tons of big trucks on the highway today.

Vanderhoof and the 2×4 or stud mill.

South of Prince George and the Fraser River.

Only 43km's to Quesnel where we're tucked in for the night.

Two pulp mills coming into Quesnel.
It was a good day.  Just over 8 hours and 690 km or about 420 miles.  Tomorrow Kelowna.
