Last year in February we ate at the Centenario Restaurant.
There’s Sandi with one of the distinctive brightly painted cows.
A few weeks ago there was some construction and now…
it’s the brightly painted blue Chochito restaurant and the cows are gone. It’s a seafood restaurant now so I guess they couldn’t keep the cows even if they painted them all blue. Here today…gone tomorrow!
Completely redone inside and now a seafood restaurant. Very pretty.
We are at a large table outside on the patio today and there are a few more to come yet. We started out by ordering drinks and perusing the menu. We were served a small cup of a hot seafood broth as an appetizer. Tasty.
The waiters spoke some english and were prompt with their service.
The food came quickly and this I believe is Popeye shrimp….probably because there is some spinach in there somewhere.
A shrimp chimichanga with sauce.
Empanadas for Pat.
Connie didn’t order tacos today! Here she appears to be looking suspiciously at her shrimp empanada. She said it was good.
Deep fried ….shrimp.
Everyone has a drink and a plate of food. That’s Marilyn’s sister-in-law Marilyn to her left. We call them “Dennis’s Marilyn and Wally’s Marilyn!”
Wait a minute ….a few of us don’t have food yet.
Mine came first and I had ordered tuna carnitas which was served in a molcejete pot even though it wasn’t boiling hot. Quickly deep fried tuna bits with guacamole ….very good.
Mosella ordered fish and she got ….the whole fish. It was a red snapper and some of it went home with her.
Here I am happily eating my lunch.
As I finished up my lunch I spied the army riding by in trucks…someone is always keeping us safe….teehee!
It was hot today and nearly everyone just finished lunch and went home. I did wander down the street to get some more pesos and then do some shopping but in the end I just got pesos as it was too hot to shop and I just went home.
Good food, good service, decent prices and everyone was happy. I wonder what they’ll turn this restaurant into next year!!
Lunch looked great. Isn't great how you can just go to a machine and get pesos :)
