It is going to be an easy day today….weather is sunny and not too far to go so we won’t leave till 10 am.
We head out of Kelowna up Gordon Drive to Harvey where we turn right. Harvey becomes 97N and takes us north to Vernon. As we drive along the many lakes of “Lake Country” are on our right.
Coming down the long hill into Vernon.
We turn right for 97 North (Okanagan Highway) through Falkland and on through Kamloops. 97A continues on to Salmon Arm.
Around and under the highway and on to Falkland.
This used to be a turf farm but now it’s grapes.
Downtown Falkland. A pretty little place with lots of farming.
Not very green as we head to Westwold.
A for sale sign….is Westwold for sale!!!
Quiet and pretty, except for the traffic.
Just past Westwold there was a pull off and it was time for lunch. A bit cloudy but 80F. Still nice and warm.
More old barns. I must remind myself to clean my Mexico sticker residue off the windshield.
Heading down the long, long, long hill where you come out east of Kamloops.
As we come out to rejoin the other highway 97 the Thompson River will be on our right as we head towards Kamloops.
Pretty along the Thompson River.
Almost on the outskirts of Kamloops now.
And then we go up, up, up and up some more. The temperature is about 80F.
We turn right and stay on highway 97 to Cache Creek.
Kamloops Lake on our right as we travel along.
Don’t go to fast or….that’s what will happen.
Not a ripple on the lake….and no wind which is a good thing for us.
Eric would like to stop and look at all the mining machinery in Savona.
He also thinks it would be easier to haul the rig with a truck like this.
The Thompson River is now on our left as we head for Cache Creek.
Beautiful and sunny and hot. We are parked in the Brookside RV park and will assess our travel plans tomorrow.
The creek is roaring and apparently it can flood the park.
So…a good day and tomorrow it will be windy, rainy and cool.
You can see our house int hat first photo on your post :)
