Kelowna, BC to Goldendale, WA

Yesterday my sister Anne and I got together for lunch.  She'd been busy with medical tests on Thursday and Friday so Saturday was it!  I visited with her for a bit and then we can were off for lunch.  We both had tacos and roasted mushroom soup and..she treated me! It was delicious and then off to shop a bit.  I picked up sandwich fixins for today and she dropped me off back at Ian and Linda's.  Last year she sold her home in Westbank and moved into Kelowna to a condo. Good thing as the area she lived in was in the forest fires area this summer. 

It was a busy few days with too much to tell but on Friday night Ian's other son Gordon flew up from Vancouver for a visit.  Linda put together another great dinner on Friday night.  Gordie is right between our daughter's Krista and Erika in age so they all knew each other well when they were young.  Gordie's a funny guy as you can see by Erics  laughter.  Lots of old stories!

We were up at 6am this morning and on the road south by 7:15.

We'll go through Wenatchee to get to Golden Dale..about 403 miles and our nights destination.

As we travelled we were up and down through the coulees.. Down to the river and then up to around 2500 ft again and again.

We rolled into Goldendale Washington and the Quality Inn around 4pm. Older but clean and renovated so all is well. Beer, a shower, a frozen home cooked meal and bed.  Tomorrow we're off to Coos Bay Oregon and our friends Connie and Manny's for a few days.  Stay tuned😊

 

Dinner with the family!

 Last night was fun.

We had dinner with Ian's son Jason, wife Deb and children Ella (15) and Cooper(10) last night.  We last saw them in the spring on our way home from Mexico.  Jason is a funny guy so there were lots of laughs! The kids sat and chatted to us so it was a good time.

A good time was had by all.  Ian's other son Gordon flies in from Vancouver later today so another family visit.   A  quick trip to Costco this morning with a stop at "His and Her's," my favorite clothing shop.  I didn't need anything but you know how that goes😃! Tomorrow I'll visit with my sister Anne and on Sunday morning we're off to Connie and Manny's in Coos Bay, Oregon for a couple of days.

Quesnel, BC to Kelowna, BC

 So how did today go...well not bad.  Last night we ate frozen spaghetti that I brought from home and this morning muffins from home.  Much easier than trying to find a restaurant after a full day's drive.  Up this morning at six and on the road before eight.   A chilly -11c brrr!

-11c became -12 and it stayed below 0 all the way ro Kelowna.

              Lunch at the overlook and it's sunny but the wind is blowing and it's still -2c.

            Through Kamloops and now the very pretty Falkland Valley where it's still green.

            Such a pretty area.  Lots of forest fires lately so some of the  hillsides are burned right down to the houses...Scary!

              Up ahead is Kelowna...6c but cloudy.

Up on the right is Ian and Linda's where we'll visit until Sunday morning.  We dropped Eric's new bike off at Triumph as it has a high speed wobble that needs to be addressed.  We were both exhausted but beer, chat, dinner and bed fixed us both up.  Quiet day today and tonight Ian's son Jason and family are coming for dinner...should be fun!
