We return to la Catrina.

Yes this is a return to somewhere that we've already been but we had a really good time!  La Catrina has a really good early bird lunch/happy hour special menu.

Marilyn, Pat, Connie, Ruth and me....not too many of us left now.

Good food at a reasonable price.
One of the cheapest lunches in town.
Marilyn does love her margaritas!!
The La Catrina statue....I really hate those skeleton things but lots of people like them.
See....I told you we were having fun.
Connie and Ruth...aren't they sweet.
The Cobb salad with dressing on the side.   It was blue cheese which I don't like but I could have requested a different dressing but I didn't think of it.  Very good salad and quite a few of us had it.
Marilyn's fish and chips.
Connie had tacos.

A good time was had by all and I'd come back here anytime!

El Parmar for ladies lunch.

Last week Ladies Lunch was at El Parmar right out the gate of the Las Jaibas RV park.  It turned out to be an excellent choice. Not everyone likes sushi but if you do this is the place to eat.  I was impressed!

First up everyone needed a drink.  I ordered a mandala which was a big mango slushy!

Connie and Diane who went home the next day.

Connie took this photo with my phone and all the white went blue!  I wonder what button she pushed?

That's my mangada...isn't it pretty!

Mar had tuna.

Pat ordered this shrimp one..spicy and delicious.

This one's Ruth 'so...sorry the blue was still happening!

Diane's.

This is my Campecho Hot roll...yummy!

Jeannette had shrimp and fries which she said was good.

So four different rolls and then we shared...what a great lunch.

Served with wasabi, soy sauce and pickled ginger.  That's tuna on the outside.

Connie says yuck to sushi and has tacos!

We saw someone with a tuna tower and it looked tasty.

The "piece de resistance" Mar brought carrot cake. It was delicious and she gave the leftovers to the staff.

So a hit for lunch and somewhere I'd return.

Ladies lunch at Pata Salada

Pata Salada is a new restaurant in the Cerritos area of Mazatlan.  It's located at the very north end of Avenida Sabalo Cerritos and it faces North on the ocean.  It already has a reputation for excellent sea food.  I am 2 weeks behind and trying my hand at keyboard typing.  Physio is brutal but I'm making slow progress.

It was windy and cool that Wednesday and the restaurant is open air...many of us were jacketless and cold.  Connie and Anita went over to one of the vendor stalls and bought beach towels🤣

Marilyn always has a big smile!  a.k.a as MarMabel because of the two Marilyn thing!

Beautiful view and a large group.

This is my mangada...pretty and tasty even without alcohol!

Georgia's had a tamarind base.

And Ruth's was coconut.

The menu is very extensive and this is only one page!

Connie and Anita look glum but really they weren't.  This was the afternoon that Anita and family spread John's ashes.

The food is out quickly...well most of the food.  Look at the variety.

This is a special shrimp dish that quite a few ladies had but the name escapes me!  Very, very good.

Now she's smiling...Connie's tacos.

Coconut shrimp.

My cheese crusted tacos with poblano peppers.  Delicious!

The happy group.  Well almost happy group.

Gorgeous view northwest up the beach.

So two issues on this day.  They forgot Jeannette's hamburger and then they rushed it and it was raw.  Not a happy diner.  They also messed up MarMabel's order with the wrong potatoes and coolish fish.  However the group was large, the service excellent, the food came out fast and for the most part was delicious.  Well worth a meal anytime but...bring a jacket unless it's late in the day and the sun is coming in.

The elbow three weeks ago and now.!

               The original splint.
                   Today's selfies.

So how am I doing with the elbow?  All things considered pretty good for an old lady three weeks after surgery.  The stitches were removed 1 week ago and today I started physio.  Lots of pain and swelling to this point but I'm determined to get full function if at all possible.

I saw Dr. Patino this morning for a physio evaluation and after reviewing my x-rays his comment was "that was a really bad break and can't believe how well you've healed!"  He said Dr. Mojarro did an excellent job surgically. I've been working on mobility and natural movement and it gets a bit better every day.

Today I had a 1/2 hour physio appt using rubber bands and then Tens and ultrasound. I'll go 4 times a week for the next three weeks and then continue at home.  Physio will work on the whole arm, not just the elbow.

I must admit I feel much more positive and things should continue to get better.

Luckily this happened in a larger city with excellent facilities and care.

Anita and family visit and we gather at Las Jaibas to remember John.

I apologize for this tardy post but my elbow injury has made it difficult to post.

2014 Anita and John play Bill and Eddie in Bocce.

This is an old photo from Christmas 2016 and happier times. You can see Anita in black with her husband John to the left.

John passed away this last winter after a long illness and Anita and her sons Lee and Nick and families came to Mazatlan to visit and spread John's ashes.  A bittersweet time for Anita as she has so many happy memories from their RVing times in Las Jaibas.  Lots of tears but also lots of hugs from old friends.

Anita chatting to Connie with Bill in the foreground and me on the chair.

Hal and Helene with Richard and Dennis behind.

Reg, Dennis and Bill.

Anita with Hal in the background.

We're getting ready to toast John's memory with his favorite drink..a Black Russian.  Diane is having a look.

We raise our glasses in memory.  The RVing community is very strong and Anita is among old friends.

Anita with her sons Nick and Lee.

Manny and Bill catching up. Many of us like Connie and Manny no longer RV but we all remain friends.

This gathering took place on March 16th and this last week on March 24th Anita and her family spread John's ashes on the beach.  They all left for home yesterday but we hope to see Anita again next year.
This occasion reminded us that we need to gather as a group once a season so we all stay in touch.  Thanks to Marilyn and Frank for the photos.
