A last ride and we chose Dimas.

We're into the last few days before we head north so it seemed we could squeeze in one last ride.  On Wednesday we left here with a couple of destinations in mind and in the end we ended up at Dimas.  It's a nice little town, a good ride and the restaurant has good food.

I guess we'll be taking the roundabout way out of town as the northern overpass is still under construction.

They've got a deck on it now so it shouldn't be long.  It was gone when we arrived last November and it's a huge inconvenience for people trying to go north on either the toll road or the free road.  We leave on Wednesday the 17th so it's not likely to be finished.

We took our usual route through Marmol and you can see the agave are growing.  They must be tough as the soil is sandy and there has been no rain for months.

The derelict Marmol cement plant.

The trees create a canopy on this road.

Just us!

Turn left on the free road to head north.

We turned west on Highway 2 and the corn is really growing.  This is big agriculture here because of the water from the Piaxtla river and the crops appear to be heavily fertilized.  All very green and uniform in size.

A corn silo?

The last time we were out this way there was lots of road construction and now it's nice new pavement😊

We are coming into Estacion Dimas.

Mariscos Pisis where we always eat lunch.

Today we decided on tacos capeado or caped tacos.  We'd had these at Barras de Piaxtla and they were very good.  Open, with either shrimp or fish with salad greens and onions. These had the salad on the taco but next time we'll ask for it on the side.  Very delicious and very cheap at 25 pesos or about $2 Canadian each.  Eric had shrimp and I had fish.  I should have ordered 2 and not 3 so Eric had to help me out.  We shared a Topo Chico mineral water and lunch was just over 200 pesos for the two of us.  A bargain!

A little messy to eat.

This lovely flower was on the top of a very spiny plant.

It's always fun to sit and people watch here.  When school gets out just after noon the motorcycles start whizzing by.  School kids together, Moms and kids and whole families.  Motos are king here. 🤴
So, a very nice ride and a place we always come back to visit.  Next year!
