First Ladies lunch since 2020..wahoo!

Yesterday we met at the Las Jaibas park to head to the Golden Zone and Pancho's restaurant.  Over the years this has become our first restaurant of the season. Seven of us on the bus and meeting Connie there. Pam, Jeannette,Sue, Marilyn and me standing. Pat and Sandi sitting. The thumb belongs to Jeannette's husband Bill!

By the time we got to the Golden Zone and walked down to the restaurant we were late!  Not really our fault as the first two buses came at the same time, one passed the other and neither stopped.
Here we are straggling in one at a time.
Our table was on the second floor overlooking the ocean.  Connie was wondering                                     what had happened to us all as we were 20 minutes late.
Pancho's is not the cheapest restaurant but their food is very good and they are very
generous with free appetizers and small drinks.  First up chips, salsa and marlin stuffed
                         jalepeno's
Connie, Sue and Pat and at this point we are ready to order drinks!
Marilyn's putting lime in her beer and that's my Pina Colada.
                                     Drinks are served!
Sue is a big fan of the very dark beers.
Lots of interesting decor and Mexican art in Pancho's
Gratis tequila that was a bit sweet and fruity...some were drunk and some
were not. The drinks..not the ladies!
My lunch was tortilla soup with a chili relleno to follow.
Marilyn had a chicken Caesar and she said the chicken was just delicious.

Shrimp Caesar for Sandi.  Looks good doesn't it?
The avocado salad stuffed with huge tasty shrimp was on quite a few plates.

Shrimp fettucine for Pat.  Looks yummy!
Jeannette seems to be looking suspiciously at her lunch!
Our waiter was excellent and even though it was very busy the service was
good.  the table behind us was full of young people from a cruse ship!
I think more beer is being ordered at this point.
Lots of people on the beach and lots of people swimming.
This was my chili relleno and I did the eat the chili which was not
warm but I couldn't manage the beans and rice.

So it was a good first lunch of the season and next week it will be Chayito's.

  1. Big Pina Colada! And not drinking all the tequila makes me sad! And what were you thinking ordering soup and salad. You know you aren't going to finish it all! Nice view. And all that food is making me hungry!

  2. I was really hungry when I got there which is unusual hence the over ordering. Most ladies took half their food home.

  4. Yummy looking food.

Between Covid and the puppies we won't be eating out much if at all.
