Laughlin, Nevada to Alamo, Nevada

As you can see the blog is back on line.  What was the problem….well it was Google pictures.  I had become increasingly frustrated by my inability to publish the blog and today when we got to Alamo I searched the internet for a solution to my problem.  The fix for the error that was coming up when I tried to post (error 400) was to go to Google pictures, create a new album called Open Live Writer, put one picture in it and then try to post.  Worked.  Why did this happen…who knows.

So…what else has been going on.  Well I posted about the crappy ride to Seligman on Monday.  Tuesday was a day to load up in preparation for a Wednesday departure.  Big Red into the RV, the new bicycle into the garage and the old one on the front of the truck.  Laundry done, last minute shopping at the mall for me and ready to hit the road.  Las Vegas had a wind warning for Tuesday and if Vegas has a wind warning Laughlin gets it too!

Up early this morning and ready to hit the road by shortly after 8am.  Only 200 miles to go today but it is a long climb out of Laughlin and we like to do it before it gets hot.

The long wide open flat between Searchlight and Las Vegas.  Not pretty country at all.

Coming into Las Vegas.  We both hate going through Vegas but…it has to be done.  We hold the middle lane all the way through and it lines us up for exit 76B which takes us east towards Salt Lake City.  We get off at exit 64 and head north on highway 93 to Alamo.

Between Las Vegas and our exit to highway 93 this huge military plane flew over us.  It felt like it was going to land right beside us!

Heading north on 93 it would appear they are building a large solar power generating facility.

We love the drive along 93.

There must have been lots of moisture this winter as the Joshua trees are bright green.

We aren’t too far from Alamo but we need lunch so we stop at this pull off within the Pharanaghat wildlife reserve.  A pretty place to eat lunch.

We are parked in the Picket’s RV park in Alamo and we aren’t the only ones.

Lots of RV’s on the road right now.  It is a lovely afternoon and it will be our last warm stop before we head north towards Ely and Jackpot where we’ll stay tomorrow night.   There is a nice grocery store in front of the park and it has anything you might need….like fresh bread and bananas!

So…a good day.  Tomorrow doesn’t look like a fun drive as it will be cool with possible showers and wind.  Yuck.
