The wind died down late yesterday and it was quiet over night. Yahoo….we hate wind!
I’ll add to this when we get to Alamo later today.
Left Laughlin about 9:30 am and by this time it was …..windy! Coming from the north and right on the nose.
Coming up the long hill out of Laughlin.
We made it to Searchlight….last year we had a tire separate and rip the side of our rig off about 2 miles south.
The Joshua trees are everywhere and they are in flower.
Exceptionally beautiful this year.
We are down the big hill from Searchlight and crossing the wide open valley to Las Vegas.
We are on I 15 heading toward Salt Lake City but will get off on exit 64 and head to Alamo. It took about 50 minutes to get from the turn off 95 at Boulder City to the exit 64 to head north on 93. Good time….light traffic.
We picked up fuel and had lunch at the Love’s Station just after our turn off on highway 93. Wide open highway ahead which seems to be getting busier every time.
We pulled into the Pickett’s RV park in Alamo about 2:30 and there were already a few rigs parked. We asked to be away from the road. Dusty, dusty, dusty in the park. The pull through sites were almost full by 5:30. $31.00 per night. Not cheap but it has Wifi, cable TV, showers, laundry and full hook-ups and a restaurant close by. Pretty here as well.
This morning everyone left and….we stayed. Full timers still here and…us.
Big trees here.
We have never had a look around this area and we really like it. The Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge here so we decided to stay an extra day. The valley is full of water from springs and the hills are bone dry….an oasis in the desert.
Wave at Pharanagat WR as you go by - unless you are staying there........ Wave to Croft and Norma on your way through Vegas for us as well!
