A day in Coulee City and then onward to Kelowna

Tuesday was a lovely day in Coulee City...once the wind died down and it warmed up a bit.
Eric went off on a walk one way and I the other way.  The Canada Geese haven't flown north yet...maybe they stay here all summer.
 Banks Lake.
 Just covered in Coots.
 A little history.
 Heading up from Coulee City.
 We continued north on 17.
 Straight as an arrow.
 Coming down to Bridgeport.
The bridge just west of the Chief Joseph dam.
Tiny espaliered trees with no leaves on them.
We passed three small tractors like this and the first two had their hoods on and looked like aliens.  Covered up for spraying in the orchards.
 Heading north on 97.
This looked like a herd of Charolais cattle with their tiny calves.  So cute.
Nice to see some pine trees.
 The Okanogan River.
Coming into Tonasket.  Just prior to this we'd stopped for fuel at the Tribal Trails gas station and both of our Visa cards were declined.  I had to use my interact card.  More on that later!
 Lovely old wood building.
 Getting closer to the border.
 Oroville...another lovely old town.
 Next up the border.
 Tiny trees are blooming.
Here we are at the Canadian border.  Where have you been?...where do you live?...what to declare?....any alcohol?...only beer....no drugs, no guns and bye, bye have a nice day.  Nice guy and no problems...just the way we like it.
 Welcome home.
 Remember we're back in km's.
 First up Osoyoos Lake.
Vaseux Lake and a tight curve.
Arrow Leaf Balsam Root...flowers in bloom everywhere through northern Washington and southern B.C.
Beautiful and quite fragrant. Native to all of western North America.
Coming up out of Penticton and there are waits ....but we hit it just right and went right through.
So pretty coming along along Okanagan Lake.
 Lovely day and ....no wind!

Heading up towards West Kelowna or Westbank as it's always been known.
Westbank has boomed over the last 10 years and the only store they don't have on the west side is a Costco.
Coming down over the bridge into Kelowna where we headed up Gordon Drive to Ian and Linda's.

It was a good day and we'll stay here in Kelowna for three or four days before we head home to Terrace.

  1. Lots of wind everywhere. We had winds off and on the last week in West Texas and again in Laredo. Now home, the winds kicked up again last night.
